Yockleton Church was built in 1861 by the people of Yockleton who wanted a Church of their own rather than having to travel to Westbury each Sunday.

The present PCC and congregation have inherited the responsibility of looking after the building and ensuring that it remains a place which Christians from the local area can use and worship in.

By its very nature, Yockleton Church is constantly in need of maintenance and repair the cost of which has to be found from general income sources.

An overhaul of the pipe organ was completed in 2004 at a cost of almost £10,000. Since then work to remedy damp entering through the roof has been completed, the cost of which was over £6,500, and internal redecoration at almost £13,000. Now we have reports that the steeple requires attention, a much more extensive and costly project.

As custodians of the Church building for the local community, the PCC feel that it is their duly not to allow it to fall into disrepair and to ensure that it is maintained for future generations. The PCC have no assistance in funding this maintenance programme, and we cannot call on contributions from the Central Church Funds. Unfortunately, therefore, if the Church is to remain for the benefit of the community, members of the community have to agree to contribute to ensure that it does. The PCC have, in response to public demand, already provided a new burial ground to ensure continuity of a very personal local need in Yockleton, it is now up to the community to respond.

The 100 Club was formed in 1979 to provide income for the church fabric, in order to maintain it, to provide it with heating and lighting, for the cost of insuring it, and to provide an emergency fund when urgent repairs are needed. Currently, the 100 Club is not fully subscribed, and we really need the full 100 members to gain optimum benefit and to make it worthwhile.We are therefore actively seeking new members, and we invite you to participate by purchasing a ticket for the forthcoming twelve months.

The annual subscription is £24.00 and can be paid monthly or quarterly or annually by Bankers Standing Order or in full by cheque or cash. The prizes drawn monthly are:
